Arthur’s Fantastic Journeys
“It's never too late for a big adventure”
"If anyone finds these notes, let them know: time is not a line. It's laundry, and it must be treated delicately."
It's a few minutes before four in the afternoon in the old railway tollhouse where Arturo lives. Arturo is ten years old, has a pair of size 13 shoes that seem out of proportion to him, and a single, great desire: to stop time and never grow up. But time, indifferent, continues its course, leaving him alone with the nostalgia of his grandfather Gregorio, a deceased former railway worker who still seems to wink at him from an old portrait above the fireplace.
Everything changes when Elly appears in the kitchen, an extravagant imaginary friend who flies on a golden bicycle suspended in the air, soon followed by Frank, a singular and eccentric "aromatic spy" capable of finding locks and forgotten secrets. Together they guide Arturo to the attic and the old warehouse, where his grandfather's plans and an extraordinary invention hide amid the dust: a washing machine capable of bending space and time.
Thus begins a daring journey through surreal dimensions and worlds: from the legendary Library of Alexandria in 2143 to the decaying Land of Lost Time amid the rides of an abandoned amusement park, from bizarre parallel worlds to a future where Arturo encounters his adult self. But to truly make that prodigious mechanism work and reconnect with his grandfather, Arturo must face his greatest fear: understanding that growing up doesn't mean losing the magic, but learning to choose and cherish what you love.
A fantastical and touching coming-of-age novel, rich in humor and poetry, perfect for anyone who still believes in the power of imagination and the eternal value of memories.
