The First Archive

Daniel Vale thought he had escaped the Archive.

He was wrong.

When Daniel, Eva, and a mysterious girl named Nora emerge from the collapsing memory system, they discover that freedom may be another layer of the experiment. Daniel begins to remember lives he never lived, deaths he never experienced, and 4,219 versions of himself that came before.

At the center of everything is a black key, a forgotten fourth knock, and a question the Archive was never meant to answer: what existed before the first memory?

As Daniel searches for the truth, the boundaries between creator and creation, memory and reality, and past and future begin to collapse. The Archive insists there was an original history. Daniel discovers something far more disturbing—there may never have been an original at all.

And Nora carries a memory the system could never erase.

To survive, Daniel must find the first memory capable of existing without the Archive. But if that memory survives, the Archive itself may no longer be necessary.

And then Daniel learns the final truth:

The first Archive was never a place.

It was him.
